Nacogdoches ISD's Technology Dept. staying busy during summer break

NACOGDOCHES, TX (KTRE) - During the summer break the Nacogdoches ISD Technology Department is staying busy upgrading computers and networking channels in schools.

The computer upgrade to Windows 7 will just be current, faster and better protected than the old system. Another upgrade is to the wide area network that allows students to use district provided iPads or their own.

"When they log on they will log in, they authenticate with their username and password and then once they do it will connect to our web filter and then it will filter appropriately and logged in as a student," said J.B. Bryant, an NISD technology specialist.

School visitors will also find the district's custodial staff busy cleaning in auditoriums and classrooms in preparation for the school year.
