Nacogdoches police: Gun-wielding man tries to sexually assault woman in parking lot

NACOGDOCHES, TX (KTRE) -

Nacogdoches police are investigating a sexual assault case in which a woman reports a masked man carrying a gun tried to sexually assault her Sunday night on Cardinal Street.

According to the report, the black man, who was wearing a ski mask, white T-shirt and shorts and carrying a handgun, approached the woman in the parking lot of an apartment complex in the 1600 block of Cardinal Street at 11:47 p.m.

The man threatened the woman and tried to sexually assault her before he was apparently startled by a passing vehicle, according to the report. He then ran away from the scene.

Nacogdoches police will be releasing more information as the investigation continues.
