DPS has been able to confirm the identities of two people killed in a head-on collision south of Lovelady in June.

DPS spokesman David Hendry said DNA samples were sent to a medical examiner's office in Tyler and confirmed the driver of a 1998 Dodge Neon was Robert Earl Meadows, 35, of Crockett, and the passenger was Kayla Jean Dunn, 20, of Huntsville.

Deirdre Lester, 59, of Lovelady, was the driver of a 1994 Honda Acura. She also died at the scene, but troopers were able to identify her then.

According to the report, Meadows was driving northbound on State Highway 19 on June 12 around 5:25 a.m. when he crossed the center line and struck Lester's car.

All three were wearing seatbelts.
