Shots Fired in Lufkin Neighborhood

Shots fired in a Lufkin neighborhood yesterday afternoon apparently had one man's name on them.

Lufkin police say 33-year-old Christopher Rodgers was allegedly standing on the 800 block of North Street when, according to the police report, Kendrick Cranford, armed with a rifle, supposedly began shooting at him. Cranford missed Rodgers, hitting the home behind him several times. Officers say the alleged shooter ran off before police arrived on scene.

Police are still investigating. As of tonight, no warrants have been issued for Cranford's arrest, and it is still not known why Cranford began shooting at Rodgers in the first place.
