Computer problems that slowed services fixed at MVD

PHOENIX (CBS5) -

Computer problems that slowed the Arizona Department of Transportation Motor Vehicle Division's services across the state have been corrected.

The problem was traced to a hardware system that handles the logon of MVD employees, said ADOT Spokesman Harold Sanders.

Earlier in the day, ADOT spokesman Tim Tait said the system was operating, but very slowly, causing some customers longer-than-normal waits at MVD offices and at authorized third-party offices.

Tait said the primary call center was also affected.

Officials say the problem was fixed by noon Thursday, and the system was working normally again.
