CROCKETT, TX (KTRE) - Officers with the Crockett Police Department seized 88 grams of methamphetamine, more than $1,500 in cash, and a 1999 Ford Expedition following a traffic stop on South Fourth Street Wednesday.
Justin Hickman 27, of Splendora, and Brittany Mason, 24, of Shepherd, were arrested at the scene and transported to the Houston County Jail. Both of them were charged with felony possession of a controlled substance between 4 and 300 grams.
According to a press release, the Crockett Police officers made the traffic stop in the 900 block of South Fourth Street. After the driver of the vehicle gave them consent to search the Ford Expedition, they found an item wrapped in black tape. Further investigation revealed that it was 88 grams of a "crystal-like" substance that was later confirmed to be meth.
The officers also found $1,537 in cash.
