The Dallas Cowboys traded up in the first round of the 2012 NFL Draft to select a defensive playmaker. Morris Claiborne started 15 games in his rookie season, but didn't have the impact fans had hoped for.
With just one interception, Claiborne hopes to make more big plays in his second season. Cowboys receiver Dez Bryant predicts Claiborne will be one of the best cornerbacks in the NFL. The 2012 first round pick hopes to prove Dez right.
"I feel more confidence in myself and what we're doing," said Claiborne. "More confidence in the scheme we are running. I think that's what it's all about, waking up everyday and feeling like you can compete against the best."
Claiborne believes coming to camp healthy also make a big difference.
"Coming here (training camp) last year, this was my first ride starting at camp fresh out of injury," said Claiborne. "But now I had the OTA's and mini camps to get ready for this moment and now I feel a lot better."
Early in camp, fellow cornerback Brandon Carr already sees a change in Claiborne.
"I see difference as far as his psyche to what he thinks," said Claiborne. "His confidence level is way higher than it was last year. Last year he had confidence but it's year two, he's been through the fire and now he knows what to expect and has experience under his belt now."
