ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

Some BMX racers who participated in Saturday's state qualifier returned Sunday to participate in the Relay for Life races.

The race will race money for Leukemia research. The race was inspired by Todd Kingsbury, a 12-year-old out of Michigan who loved BMX but died from Leukemia.

One person who participated was Daniel Gyorfi. Gyorfi placed 1st in the 13 year-old intermediate division.

"All I have to do is come here and ride and the people doing the research get the money," Gyorfi said. "It's nice that I can help with that."

By the end of the event, $1,700 were raised towards Leukemia research.
