AVONDALE, AZ (CBS5) -

A teenager was shot and killed by an Avondale police officer at a Circle K Tuesday morning.

The suspect, Shaun Nathaniel Walters, 19, was shot at about 8:30 a.m. at the convenience store near McDowell Road and Avondale Boulevard.

Police said they had received a report that Walters was "acting disorderly."

When officers arrived, the teen pulled out a weapon, and an officer opened fire, said Avondale police Sgt. Brandon Busse.

The officer was not injured, and will be placed on standard administrative leave pending the outcome of the investigation.
