Unknown if Texas cyclospora outbreak related to IA and NE outbreak

One hundred and twenty-two cases of cyclospora have been reported so far in Texas.

According to the Texas Department of State Health Services, it is unclear at this time whether or not the outbreak in Texas is related to outbreaks in Iowa and Nebraska. The multi-state outbreak in the Midwest has been linked to prepackaged salad mix.

DSHS is investigating each individual case of cyclospora.

They have released a list of confirmed cases county-by-county:

Dallas- 17

Denton- 7

El Paso- 1

Ellis- 3

Harris- 1

Hidalgo- 1

Hood- 1

Hunt- 1

Johnson- 1

Montague- 1

Parker- 2

Potter- 1

Smith- 2

Tarrant- 14

Tom Green- 1

Travis- 6

Victoria- 1

Williamson- 21

Twenty-one other cases have also been reported and are pending county assignment.
