NACOGDOCHES, TX (KTRE) - Motorists are being urged to use caution today and into the night while traveling on State Highway 7 because a new phase of road construction began this morning.
The new project will move all traffic to the newly built eastbound driving lanes near the Angelina River and FM 2782.
Texas Department of Transportation Spokesperson Kathi White says it shouldn't change traffic too much and wants motorists to know about the change.
"Slow down, look for the signage and pay attention because it will look a little different and move a little differently, but really it's just switching the traffic so that they can build the westbound side and they are being put on the new eastbound lanes that are finished," White said.
The new phase of this project isn't expected to be completed until the end of August.
