Nacogdoches PD: Man robbed his dad at gunpoint, took truck, gun, credit cards

NACOGDOCHES, TX (KTRE) - Officers with the Nacogdoches Police Department tracked down a 29-year-old man who allegedly robbed his dad at gunpoint and tied him up at his residence in the 300 block of Cooper Street Thursday morning.

The suspect, William Fincher, was apprehended in the parking lot of the Nacogdoches Walmart.

Fincher, of Nacogdoches, was charged aggravated robbery, which is a felony. No bail has been set at this time.

According to a press release from the Nacogdoches Police Department, officers were called to a residence in the 300 block of Cooper Street shortly before 9 a.m. Thursday morning in reference to an aggravated robbery.

When they talked to the victim, a 69-year-old man, they learned that his son had threatened him with a gun and tied his hands and feet. Then, Fincher allegedly took the victim's pickup, hand gun, and credit card before fleeing the area.

Around 9:26 a.m. NPD patrol officers located the victim's pickup in the Walmart parking lot. Fincher was arrested without incident after officers spotted him leaving the store.

No one was injured in the incident or the arrest.
