Pepper is waiting and watching out the window for his new family

NACOGDOCHES, TX (KTRE) -

He sits on the window sill waiting and watching for his new family to walk up and adopt him

This is Pepper. He's a long-haired gray and white cat with a sweet temperament.

He is 7-year-old and patiently looking for a new family.

Pepper is a little bit of an older cat but he's still young at heart and he's pretty curious and likes to look out the window.

Nacogdoches Animal Shelter, Animal Control Officer, Steven Bryant says Pepper needs to be top cat in the house.

"He's good with kids but not with other cats," said Bryant. "He needs to be the only boy who rules the roost and seems to be a real sweet guy."

Pepper is an indoor cat and recently got a haircut so he'd be more comfortable for the hot summer.

"He's actually a longer haired cat we've shaved him down some so his coat is shorter," said Bryant.

Bryant says Pepper is just a laid-back cat and he will fit in well with most people as long as they have love and attention to spare.

"Well someone that loves cats," said Bryant. "They can have children. It might be good for a couple or single person probably him being a single-minded kind of cat this cat would probably bond more with just a single person but he seems to be real friendly, real content."

Temporarily calling the Nacogdoches Animal Shelter a home, Remi is hoping to find something a little more permanent. Caretakers said the one-year-old dog is playful and loves attention. Remi was brought into the shelter as a stray about three weeks ago. "He gets along with the other dogs. He still in his puppy stage so he still has a lot of time to go around play with everyone," said Torion Johnson, animal control officer.  Remi is a heeler-spani...
