Onalaska PD: Man tried to cut police officer with box cutter

ONALASKA, TX (KTRE) -

An Onalaska man was arrested for aggravated assault of a public servant and resisting arrest after he swung a box cutter at a police officer who was assisting in a county matter.

Patrick Renner is still being held in the Polk County Jail. The assault of a public servant charge is a felony and the resisting arrest charge is a misdemeanor. Renner's bail has been set at $30,000.

According to the Onalaska Police Department, Renner fled after he tried to cut the officer with the box cutter. He was arrested on the Kickapoo Bridge on Highway 190 a short time later.
