TONEY, AL (WAFF) -

A child was killed and two other people were hospitalized following a Saturday evening wreck.

The Madison County Coroner said the child is Max Fountain who was 23-months old.

Toney Fire and Rescue responded to a single vehicle rollover in the Old Railroad Bed Road and Dan Crutcher Road area at 10 p.m.

Firefighters found two people trapped in a car and the toddler ejected. Max Fountain was pronounced dead at the scene. It took about twenty minutes for firefighters to get the other two people out of the car due to the location and heavy intrusion.

The two rescued people were transported by HEMSI to the hospital. There is no word on their conditions.

Alabama State Trooper's traffic homicide division is investigating this incident.

Old Railroad Bed Road was closed from Baites Road to Dan Crutcher Road while crews cleared the wreck.
