LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - A pickup burst into flames after its driver lost control and went into a ditch from the Lufkin Loop near the intersection of Atkinson Drive Monday afternoon. No one was injured.
According to Jesse Moody, a battalion chief with the Lufkin Fire Department, the driver of a Toyota Tacoma pulling a trailer full of lumber started fish-tailing on the Lufkin Loop and wound up in a ditch. The pickup caught fire.
The four people in the Tacoma escaped the burning truck and were not injured.
Lufkin firefighters put the vehicle fire out within minutes.
