POLK COUNTY, TX (KTRE) -

Traffic moved slow on US 59, north of Corrigan, for several hours following a vehicle accident Thursday morning.

A dispatcher with DPS said all lanes were closed as of 9 a.m. However, by 9:45 a.m., one lane on each side and the median was open. By 5 p.m., all lanes were open.

DPS spokesman David Hendry said Tommy Lovell, 71, of Huntington, was driving a loaded log truck and pulling out of Hickman Road and into the path of another 18-wheeler, driven by Leslie Charleston, 62, of Bloomington.

Lovell was taken by helicopter to a Tyler hospital. Charleston was treated for injuries at a Livingston hospital.
