LIVINGSTON, TX (KTRE) - Livingston Police officers arrested an 18-year-old man for sexual assault of a child Tuesday after he allegedly had sex with a 14-year-old girl at his residence in early August.
Jack Michael Price, of Livingston, is still being held in the Polk County Jail on a sexual assault of a child charge. His bail has been set at $35,000.
"Both Price and the girl said the sex was consensual," said Lt. Matt Parrish, a spokesman for the Livingston Police Department. "However, a minor can't legally give consent to have sex, and there was more than a 3-year age difference."
Parrish said the 14-year-old's parents filed the initial report with the Onalaska Police Department on Aug. 14 after they found out that the daughter had sex with Price. The girl allegedly went to Price's residence in the 2000 block of Houston Ave., where they had the sexual encounter.
A warrant was issued for Price's arrest on Aug. 19, and officers with the Livingston Police Department arrested him at his home later that day.
