LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - Deputies with the Angelina County Sheriff's Office have arrested a Lufkin man accused of abusing his wife and her seven-year-old daughter while driving on the Lufkin loop on Monday.
Kevin Wayne Tillar, 35, is charged with state-jail felony injury to child and Class-A assault.
According to an arrest affidavit, Tillar's wife reported Tillar was driving her and her seven-year-old daughter around the loop when he looked at her and yelled, "Quit looking at me" then began to hit her. She said while he was backhanding her, his elbow caught the daughter in her left eye.
The deputy stated the daughter had a light bruise on her eye. The daughter said Tillar began to scream at her mother then started to hit her on the head. The wife said Tillar came to a stop and told her to get out of the vehicle, but she refused. He then got out of the vehicle and walked around to the passenger side but the wife locked all the doors. He then reached into a window and grabbed a handful of her hair, she said.
A warrant for Tillar's arrest was obtained on Tuesday and he was arrested the same day. His bail has not yet been set.
Tillar and his father, Rogar Tillar, were arrested in June 2012 during a meth raid on a house on Nerren Street.
Kevin Tillar is scheduled to plead guilty on the drug charge on Aug. 30.
