ANGELINA COUNTY, TX (KTRE) - A Rusk man is in jail after an Angelina County deputy reported he had been driving drunk with two young passengers in his vehicle Tuesday night.
According to the arrest report, Deputy Amanda Lee saw Sergio Delacruz, 29, of Rusk, at the Polk's gas station on US 69 North with the hazard lights on in his 1998 Chevy pickup. She had gone to the scene after a call on a reckless driver speeding with his hazard lights on and swerving in and out of the grassy median.
Lee saw Delacruz get into the pickup and drive off from the pump and pulled him over, around 10:28 p.m.
She reported he smelled of alcohol and his eyes were glassy. She also reported he failed a field sobriety test.
Delacruz was driving with a 10-month-old girl and a two-year-old girl.
Lee arrested Delacruz on a charge of state-jail felony DWI with a child passenger.
