POLK COUNTY, TX (KTRE) -

DPS officials have released the name of a man who died Friday afternoon in a motorcycle accident.

Donald Maurice, 71, was driving south bound on US 190 around 11:40 a.m. when a 1996 Ford Ranger failed to yield on a right of way.

Leon Harris, of Livingston, was the driver of the Ford Ranger, but was not injured.

Maurice was transported to Memorial Medical Center in Livingston where he was later pronounced dead at 12:33 p.m. by Precinct 4 Justice of the Peace, Judge Steven McGentrey.

DPS Troopers said Maurice was not wearing a helmet when Harris struck his 2005 Yamaha Roadster.
