Hudson man flown to hospital after forklift accident

LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) -

An East Texas man has been flown to a Houston hospital after a forklift accident Tuesday.

Lufkin Police said the accident happened around 4:30 p.m., at McCoy's Building Supply in the 2700 block of Martin Luther King Drive.

Drake Floyd, 19, of Hudson, an employee at McCoy's, was unloading sheet-rock, when he got between a truck and a forklift.

Floyd was taken to Memorial Hospital with severe chest injuries.

According to the hospital spokesperson, Yana Olgetree, Floyd was flown to Memorial Hermann Hospital in Houston around 8 p.m. Tuesday night.

At that point, Olgetree said he was in stable condition.
