Trees stolen from Toledo resident's back yard

Posted: Updated:
TOLEDO, OH (Toledo News Now) -

Barbara Grindle and her husband were relaxing in their side yard when they noticed something wasn't right.

They quickly realized two of the evergreen trees they planted, were ripped out of the ground and taken, leaving a hole in the row of trees.

The Grindle's have lived on South Avenue for more than 35 years and recently purchased two boarded up homes next door from the land bank.

Barbara says the goal was to create a beautiful yard and garden for not only their enjoyment, but all their neighbors, including a senior center across the street.

"We came home and we found out, two of them took our bushes, tonight, you know and I'm just scared they're going to come and do more damage and I think everybody should know about it and if anyone does know about it, I would just like them to bring the trees back," Barbara said.

The Grindle's have contacted Toledo Police about the stolen trees, and Barbara says not because she wants anyone arrested, she just doesn't want the damage to go any further.
