He's full of energy and ready to be your best friend. Meet Pepper.

LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - Put your paws up for Pepper. He's a 7-month-old Australian Shepherd mix and he's looking for a new home.

Pepper is medium sized and has an interesting brindle, black and white mixed coat.

Director of Kurth Memorial Animal Shelter, Aaron Ramsey says, "His eyes, just really neat eyes on pepper he's got kind of the blue iris you see in the Australian Shepherds."

Pepper has a really calm personality so he'll get along with just about everybody and he's still a really young dog so he has a lot of energy and likes to get outside and run around and play.

Staff at Kurth Memorial says Pepper will need exercise every day.

"This breed a lot they  need a lot of room to run and expel energy because they are, you know they're a herding dog so he's going to need some area where he can run and release that energy," said Ramsey. "You see them a lot in different dog sports like agility, frisbee those type of things so they're very trainable and loyal."

A volunteer paid for Pepper's adoption fee because she wants him to find to be happy and find the best home possible.
