NACOGDOCHES, TX (KTRE) - Nacogdoches Police officers arrested a 24-year-old Tennessee man after he allegedly tried to run two people over after he left the scene of a disturbance involving a weapon early Sunday morning.
Alex Fentress, of Kingsport, Tennessee, was arrested at the scene and charged with second-degree felony aggravated assault with a deadly and driving while intoxicated, which is a Class B misdemeanor. No bail has been set at this time. He posted a bail of $16,500, and has since been released from the Nacogdoches County Jail.
According to Sgt. Keith Hawkins, a spokesman for the Nacogdoches Police Department, officers responded to a 911 call about a fight involving a weapon at a residence in the 3200 block of Patty Ann Street at approximately 2:49 a.m. Sunday.
The two people Fentress allegedly tried to run over said that he hit them on purpose as he was leaving the scene of the fight, causing minor injuries like bruises and scrapes to both people.
The police report did not indicate whether or not Fentress was involved in the fight.
