Lufkin man gets 150 days in jail, 10 years probation for intoxicated manslaughter

LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) -

A Lufkin man agreed to a plea bargain sentence to 150 days in the county jail and 10 year of probation Friday in connection to a fatal alcohol-related one-vehicle accident that occurred on Rivercrest Road in September 2012.

Ronald Ray Read, 58, pleaded guilty to a second-degree felony charge of intoxicated manslaughter.

According to a previous East Texas News story, Read was driving at 2001 Ford truck east on Rivercrest Road on Sept. when he left the roadway and struck a tree. The accident report stated that although Read wasn't injured, his passenger, Rickey Torbert, 52, died at the scene.

Goats were judged on their broad shoulders, chest, their ability to be well balanced from head to tail and their muscle. They were divided into 5 weight classes ranging from light to heavy.
