A bet over a soccer match went horribly wrong and has landed one man in the hospital.
Metro police said that a verbal fight became physical. The betting took place at a home on Glenrose Avenue. Police said Luis Diaz-Isadoro was arguing with someone inside the home and decided to go to his car and retrieve a pellet gun, then came back inside the house and shot a male in the hand.
When police arrived at the home both the victim and the assailant ran. Police later identified and arrested Diaz-Isadoro. He has been charged with felony aggravated assault. The victim was transported to Vanderbilt and had the pellet removed from their hand.
