LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - A busload of children from Lufkin ISD is OK after a driver hit the back of a parked truck at the Boys & Girls Club Tuesday afternoon.
Lufkin Police Officer Brad Lawrence said the bus driver was pulling into the parking lot, located at 909 South Angelina St., and tried to avoid another car in the lot and hit the rear driver-side bumper of a Chevy pickup.
The bus was full of children, but none were hurt, Lawrence said.
Nobody was in the parked pickup.
Lawrence said a traffic citation was pending the investigation.
The incident was the second accident involving an LISD bus on Tuesday, after another was rear-ended at the intersection of Paul Avenue and Loop 287 Tuesday morning.
