Metro schools calendar altered

Posted: Updated:
NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

Metro schools officials have listened to input from parents and have altered the school calendar. The school board voted Tuesday night and came up with a compromise calendar for next school year.

The new school start date will be Aug. 6. That is a couple of days later than when school started this year. There will also be three days of intercession in the spring. Those three days are set aside for students who may need extra help.

There will also be five days each for spring break and fall break. There will be an additional five days for teacher development. The board also voted to build in five days for bad weather.
