Livingston Police officers arrested a 47-old-man Sunday morning after he allegedly physically and sexually assaulted his girlfriend over the course of several hours. The alleged sexual assault took place at a motel in the 100 block of South Washington Ave.

Shawn Green, of Livingston, is still being held in the Polk County Jail on a first-degree felony charge of aggravated sexual assault and a Class A misdemeanor charge of unlawful restraint. No bail has been set at this time.

According to a press release from the Livingston Police Department, LPD officers were dispatched out to the hotel in the 100 block of Washington Ave. at approximately 8:40 a.m. in reference to a disturbance. When they arrived on the scene, they spotted a man standing out in the parking, who was later identified as Green.
