LIVINGSTON, TX (KTRE) - Livingston Police officers arrested a 47-old-man Sunday morning after he allegedly physically and sexually assaulted his girlfriend over the course of several hours. The alleged sexual assault took place at a motel in the 100 block of South Washington Ave.
Shawn Green, of Livingston, is still being held in the Polk County Jail on a first-degree felony charge of aggravated sexual assault and a Class A misdemeanor charge of unlawful restraint. No bail has been set at this time.
According to a press release from the Livingston Police Department, LPD officers were dispatched out to the hotel in the 100 block of Washington Ave. at approximately 8:40 a.m. in reference to a disturbance. When they arrived on the scene, they spotted a man standing out in the parking, who was later identified as Green.
Further investigation revealed that Green and his girlfriend got into an argument at about 11 p.m. Saturday. At some point, the verbal dispute escalated into a physical and sexual assault which continued on into the early morning hours of Sunday, according to the press release.
In addition, the victim was allegedly held against her will and restrained while the assaults occurred.
