TRINITY COUNTY, TX (KTRE) - The Trinity County Sheriff's Office is investigating two cases of animal neglect following two seizures last week involving malnourished horses and cattle.
Sheriff Woody Wallace said the first case came Friday in the Nogalus Prairie area, in reference to a call of animal cruelty. Wallace said deputies arrived and found two horses severely malnourished with no grass, hay or feed available. Wallace said criminal charges are being filed against the owner and a hearing will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. to determine custody of the animals.
Later Friday, Wallace said they received a report at a different residence and found 18 head of cattle severely malnourished with no feed available. He said criminal charges will be filed against the owner and a custody hearing will be held Friday at 10 a.m.
