LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - Renovations are nowunderway on the old Story Wright building.
Back in December, wetold you the City of Lufkin was purchasing the Story Wright building indowntown.
Get ready becauseover the next several months if you are in the city hall area crews will be remodelingthe building. So be cautious.
The estimatedremodeling cost is more than $1 million in budgeted funds. When it's done, itwill be a full functioning municipal court building
"We have no plans toshut any streets down," Keith Wright, Lufkin's deputy city manager. "Theparking lots on either side of the building are closed for the construction,but as far as the alley and the streets, I don't see any streets but the alleyin the backside of the building might be periodically."
No road closures areexpected. Wright said the project will last seven months and is on schedulewith a finish date in march.
