LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - The 29th annual Texas State Forest Festival kicks off Wednesday at the George H. Henderson Expo Center in Lufkin.
During the 5-day fun-fest visitors can enjoy carnival rides, eat fried food, pet a camel, shop, visit with tons of local vendors, win prizes and more.
Forest festival event coordinator, Melissa Wheeler says everyone's favorite events will be back plus new events, attractions, entertainment and competitions.
"The new attractions we have coming right now they're setting up for the wild west gun fight show entertainment so we'll have a wild west town with actors," said Wheeler. "It's a comedy hysterical fun event that we'll want everybody to come see and we have our traditional lumberjack show that'll be back, seeing who can throw the axe the best and cut the logs the fastest."
And don't forget Wednesday night is KTRE night so you can bring 3 can good and receive $5 off the purchase of the carnival wristband.
