HUNTINGTON, TX (KTRE) - Educators are usuallythe ones doing the teaching, but Wednesday, they were doing some learning.
Thirty-five teachersfrom across the Huntington School District were on hand for the project-basedlearning system taught by the buck institute for education.
The seminar is thefirst in an ongoing training program that will teach educators new creativelearning techniques.
The district's admitsit might feel strange at first.
"I think they are allexcited, but I think there is a degree of anxiety because anytime you move awayfrom something that is a commodity to something a little new will provide alittle bit of anxiety among the teachers," said Dr. Eric Wright, Huntington ISD'ssuperintendent.
Some of theinstruction taught today has already started in the 3rd and 6th grade level. Othergrades will soon start pilot programs from this seminar.
