A 30-year-old Nacogdoches man accepted a plea bargain sentence of 5 years in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice prison system Thursday for attempting to rob the Brookshire Bros. store located in the 1200 block on May 31.

Danny Lee Davison appeared in Judge Campbell Cox's 145th Judicial District Court Thursday for a plea hearing.  With the agreement, Davison pleaded guilty to a felony charge of robbery.

According to the police report, the robbery occurred in the evening of May 31. Davison picked up items in the store and stuffed them down his pants.

When a store manager stopped Davison and asked him to remove the items from his pants, Davison refused, ran around the store, and attempted to leave. A cashier closed the doors at the front of the store, and Davison ran into her, causing minor injuries.

Then Davison was detained until Nacogdoches Police officers arrived on the scene.
