Trinity Co. K9 sniffs out meth in vehicle

TRINITY COUNTY, TX (KTRE) -

The new K9 unit for Trinity County Sheriff's Office was useful Monday night in seizing 2.5 grams of meth on State Highway 19 South.

Sheriff Woody Wallace said Deputy Justin Sikes pulled over the vehicle of Jimmy Ray Groze, 47, of Huntsville, around 8 p.m.

Wallace said the K9 was alerted to drugs in the vehicle and Sikes searched the vehicle, finding 2.5 grams of meth inside.

Groze is charged with second-degree possession of controlled substance.
