BOWIE COUNTY, TX (KLTV) - An East Texas man who had thousands of dollars worth of firearms and ammunition stolen from his home is now offering a reward for information leading to an additional suspect.

Dr. Khalid Malik is offering a reward of $1,000 to anyone who has information leading to the whereabouts of 29-year-old Levi Allen Martin of Maud. Martin is the last known suspect in the burglary. The first suspect, 24-year-old Douglas Kyle Burnett, was arrested in July after turning himself in to Bowie County authorities.

To date, Dr. Malik has paid out $3,000 for information that led to the recovery of some of his stolen property. Malik wants to remind East Texans that there is still $6,000 available for information leading to the recovery of more of the stolen property.

From June 19 to June 29, Malik's Maud residence was burglarized twice. During those burglaries, a large amount of firearms, ammunition and several other items were taken. The property taken during these crimes totals $38,745.

Anyone with information on Martin's whereabouts or Dr. Malik's stolen property is asked to contact Investigator David Biggar at 903-628-6748 or Crime Stoppers at 903-793-STOP.

More than a few tar-covered tires are hanging on to the parking lot of a Lufkin tire shop.  On August 31, newly laid asphalt on Loop 287 started sticking to tires of those driving, leaving many of the cars un-driveable. As of Friday, the Texas Department of Transportation hadn't come out with an official cause for the incident, but that hasn't stopped over 600 people from filing claims with them.
