Convicted cop killer Harry Mitts was executed on Wednesday morning.

Mitts was pronounced dead at 10:39 a.m. at the state prison in Lucasville.

Mitts was sentenced to death out of Cuyahoga County for the 1994 deaths of John A. Bryant and Sgt. Dennis Glivar.

Mitts shot and killed Garfield Heights Police Sergeant Dennis Glivar and wounded another Maple Heights police officer during a shootout in 1994.

Mitts had also shot and killed an African American resident, John Bryant, in a racially motivated attack that led to the subsequent police shootout.
