Nacogdoches PD arrests 5, seizes more than 2 pounds of weed

NACOGDOCHES, TX (KTRE) -

Nacogdoches Police officers arrested five people on a variety of drug charges and seized more than 2 pounds of marijuana after they served search warrants on two neighboring houses on Humphrey Road early Tuesday morning.

According to a press release, the arrests are the result of a lengthy investigation into marijuana trafficking in that area. The search warrants were executed simultaneously, and NPD officers seized marijuana, hydrocodone, and prescription medication at the two homes.

All five of the suspects are from Nacogdoches.

Idris Whitaker, 34, was charged with possession of marijuana between 4 ounces and five pounds, and two Class B misdemeanor possession charges. Collectively, his bail was set at $21,500. Antonio Lajuan Whitaker, 35, was charged with possession of marijuana between 4 ounces and 5 pounds, which is a state-jail felony. His bail was set at $15,000.

Tina Marie Smith, 24, was charged with possession of marijuana less than 2 ounces, a Class B misdemeanor, and possession of a dangerous drug, a Class B misdemeanor. Collectively, her bail was set at $4,000. Ray Terry Simon 52, was charged with two Class B misdemeanor marijuana possession charges, and his bail was set at $3,000.

Lyterric Demon Simon, 34, was charged with possession of marijuana less than 2 ounces and possession of a dangerous drug. No bail has been set for Lyterric Simon at this time.
