PHOENIX (CBS5) -

Authorities say Thursday's dust storm caused at least one crash near State Route 347.

Department of Public Safety spokesman Bart Graves said there were minor injuries.

The crashes caused a 14-mile stretch of SR 347 between Maricopa and Chandler to close about 3 p.m. Thursday, according to ADOT.

The road was reopened about 5:30 p.m.

A blowing dust advisory is in effect until 7 p.m. for Maricopa County and 8 p.m. for Apache County. [Click here for a full list of weather alerts]

    During a Monday night special meeting, Nacogdoches Independent School District named Sandra Dowdy the lone finalist for the superintendent position. Dowdy has served as interim for the last several months. Per a press release from NISD, Dowdy was selected from a field of 45 applicants. A state mandated 21-day period must pass between the board naming her as the lone finalist and formally naming her as the next superintendent of Nacogdoches schools.
