CARROLLTON, TX (KLTV) - Authorities believe a Dallas-area grandfather who went missing with his two grandchildren Sunday afternoon has now traveled out of state.

According to WFAA, 57-year-old William Gomez left his home with seven-year-old Marcus Gomez and eight-year-old Dominique Gomez around 2 p.m. Gomez told the children's father that he was taking the kids to a park, just one mile from his house. However, there has been no sign of the trio in that area.

Both the Texas Department of Public Safety and Carrollton Police Department issued a missing alert for the man and two young children on Sunday night. Late Sunday evening, William Gomez's debit card was used at a gas station in Como, Texas. Como is located in Hopkins County, just ten miles southeast of Sulphur Springs.
On Monday, someone accessed William Gomez's bank account in Little Rock, Arkansas around 7:48 a.m. Little Rock police say the card was later used at a Shell gas station in Troy, Tennessee Monday afternoon. Interstate alert signs informing passing motorists about the three missing Texans have now been activated.

William Gomez is driving a white Jeep Cherokee with Texas license plate number DH1Y337. He was last seen wearing a blue button down shirt and black pants. He is 5' 5" and weighs approximately 160 pounds. He has black hair, brown eyes, and wears prescription eye glasses.

Marcus was last seen wearing a white t-shirt and cream colored pants. Dominique was wearing a floral-patterned shirt and blue pants.

William Gomez does not have a cell phone with him. He suffers from a medical condition that affects his memory. Police say he went missing for an unknown period last year. Authorities do not know where he may be headed at this time.

DPS issued a critical missing alert for the trio late Sunday night.

Anyone with information about the three or their possible whereabouts is asked to contact the Carrollton Police Department at 972-466-3333 or 911.
