TUCSON, AZ (AP) -

A reward of up to $1,000 is being offered for information that leads to an arrest in the illegal killing of a javelina in Tucson.

Arizona Game and Fish Department officials say the javelina died from arrow wounds shortly after being found Saturday on the city's northwest side.

Officials say it appears the javelina was shot with an arrow tip that is more commonly used for target practice, not hunting.

They say it's likely the animal was targeted because it was a nuisance.
