Tyler store robbed, police looking for masked suspect

TYLER, TX (KLTV) - Local authorities are seeking information from the public in hopes of identifying a masked robbery suspect.

According to the Tyler Police Department, officers responded to a reported robbery at Zip Cash, located at 5111 Troup Highway, around 4:15 p.m. Tuesday. Witnesses told police that a black male wearing a white shirt over his face entered the store and then demanded money from an employee.

The Zip Cash employee gave the suspect an undisclosed amount of cash. After collecting the cash, the suspect fled the scene, running southbound beside the business.

Witnesses describe the suspect as a black male who is around 5' 5" tall with a thin build. The suspect was wearing a green flannel shirt, dark pants, and a dark toboggan style hat.

Anyone with information about this suspect is asked to contact the Tyler Police Department at 903-531-1000 or Crime stoppers at 903-597-CUFF (2833). Crime stoppers will pay up to $1,000 for information that leads to an arrest in this case.
