PHOENIX (CBS5/AP) -

Phoenix police have identified the man shot to death by a homeowner during an attempted burglary late Saturday, Phoenix police said.

Aaron Fisher, 22, was shot by the homeowner, who is an armed security guard, after Fisher allegedly broke into his west Phoenix house.

The unidentified homeowner was returning home at about 10 p.m. Saturday and confronted Fisher as he came out of a bedroom and shot him, said Phoenix police Sgt. Steve Martos.

Fisher was taken to a hospital where he died.

Martos said the homeowner hasn't been charged, but the case will be sent to the Maricopa County Attorney's Office for a review.
