TRINITY COUNTY, TX (KTRE) - Trinity County Sheriff's investigators are seeking the public's help in regard to two suspicious car fires that occurred within 45 minutes of each other in the county's Pinecrest subdivision early Saturday morning.
"We definitely think they're connected," a spokesperson for the Trinity County Sheriff's Office said.
According to the Trinity County Sheriff's Office Facebook page, the two car fires occurred between 5:30 and 6:15 a.m. One car fire was on Falcon Street and the other was on Marina Place Drive. One vehicle was a 2011 Ford F-150 pickup, and the other was a 2004 Saab sedan.
It appeared as though accelerants were used to start the two fires, according to the report. The flames on the Saab sedan got hot enough that they burned the paint, consumed the plastic parts, and melted the tires on the rear end of the car. The report indicated that that burn patterns on the two vehicles point to the use of some type of flammable liquid.
Anyone with any information about the two suspicious car fires should call the Trinity County Sheriff's Office at (936) 642-1424.
