SAN AUGUSTINE, TX (KTRE) -

San Augustine police arrested a man accused of driving intoxicated with two child passengers Sunday.

Nicolas Jimenez, 32, of San Augustine, is charged with state-jail felony driving while intoxicated with a child passenger.

According to the arrest report, Jimenez was driving a Ford car and left the intersection of Oak Lawn Street and North Clark Street and made a wide turn, entering the grass on the other side of the road, before driving into oncoming traffic and nearly running off the road.

The police officer pulled over his car, and reported seeing an open can of beer under the car seat. The officer reported Jimenez had two child passengers, aged two months and five years old.

The officer reported that Jimenez failed field-sobriety tests, as well as a blood-alcohol test.

The officer arrested Jimenez without incident.
