PHOENIX (CBS5) -

An elderly Phoenix couple knew something was amiss when a birthday card with their name and return address on it was returned as undeliverable because it had a bogus Pennsylvania address.

The couple, an 81-year-old man and a 73-year-old woman, opened the card on Oct. 2 and discovered a plastic baggy containing a white substance, according to Phoenix police Sgt. Steve Martos.

They called police and the Phoenix bomb squad showed up to investigate.

Officials seized the plastic baggy and later determined it contained methamphetamine, Martos said.
