When hitting the road,driver want to make sure your child is safely secured.
Safety officials say up to85% of drivers strap their children in the wrong way.
The Pregnancy Help Centerof Lufkin is urging parents to stop by their drive-in carseat safety check Oct.12, because buckling a child up safely should be a priority before backing thevehicle out of the driveway.
"There are no minormistakes when installing your child's carseat for your child, or when you aresecuring them in the car seat properly," event director Kathryn Hughes said. "Itcould be the difference between a major or minor injury and possibly evendeath."
The center also says theywelcome expecting parents with carseats to the event so they can be betterprepared.
The event will be from 9 a.m. to noon, Oct.12at the Lufkin mall parking lot.
