Nacogdoches' Pineywoods Fair kicks off tonight with KTRE Ride-a-Mania Night

NACOGDOCHES, TX (KTRE) - The Pineywoods Fair officially kicks off tonight. However, some events were held early.

Tuesday morning, out at the Nacogdoches County Exposition center volunteers had the tough job of judging the baking contest.  Cakes, pies, cookies, and other baked items are judged for taste and appearance.

Registration just ended for the art, canning, crafts, and photography contests. Rabbit judging was held Tuesday as well. During the day Tuesday, 33 vendors were busy setting up their booths.

"We do have new vendors at our civic center," said Wendy Lee, the Expo Center's assistant director. "We have a lot of returning vendors from last year, but come on out. Take a look at the old vendors from last year and take a new look at our vendors from this year."

Tonight is KTRE Ride-a-Mania Night. Bring three can goods for the food drive, and you can purchase a ride wristband for $12 dollars. The Pineywoods Fair will run through Sunday.
